IngZ Launches 365 ThingZ to do: Austin App for an Extensive City Guide

Austin, Texas – December 21, 2010 – IngZ, Inc. (www.ingz-inc.com), an Austin-based mobile software development company, today announced the availability of 365 ThingZ to do: Austin, a free iPhone app bringing Austinites and Austin visitors an all-encompassing guide of what to do from local expert Kristy Owen, author of the 365 Things to do in Austin blog. With the new app users receive all the capabilities and content of touringZ as well as new features such as deals around town, which gives people the ability to sort by deals including happy hour specials and sales.

Today Owen posted number 355 on her list and with only 10 days remaining in the year, she will celebrate the completion of her 2010 list of 365 “things to do in Austin” that more than 140,000Facebook fans have come to enjoy. “Since I’m a realtor, people are always asking for suggestions on what to do around Austin. I’ve been blogging throughout the year about my experiences and recommendations, and I’ll be starting a new list in 2011,” said Owen. “Tapping into the smartphone world is a great way for newcomers and fans to find an activity or restaurant on the go. The app gives users a lot of options and flexibility, but it’s presented in a way that isn’t overwhelming and helps them drill down to what they’re looking for.”

IngZ’s touringZ app offers interactive tours that include GPS-triggered audio commentary, photos, and descriptive text. This creates the illusion that users have their own personal guides – in this case, Kristy – accompanying them on their trips. The app points out popular trails, must see attractions, background information, approximate time per activity, side sightings, directions, and how to fill extra time.

The free 365 ThingZ to do: Austin edition initially includes 100 points of interest. Users can sort points of interest (POIs) either by categories (bars, live music, trailer park eateries, outdoors, museums, restaurants, pet friendly, etc.), proximity, cost or age group. When the app is downloaded, the map view shows icons representing the various types of POIs scattered across Austin, identifying places to go and things to do.

“Kristy’s experience and knowledge of Austin has translated into a great hand-held guide to our town,” said Tony Howlett, founder and president of ingZ, Inc. “What makes the 365 ThingZ to do: Austin app so useful is that it is designed to easily answer the question, ‘What am I going to do in Austin?’”

365 ThingZ to do: Austin is currently available in the Apple App store here.
